Haiti

I have been thinking lately, why is it when we have a terrible thing happen such as this earthquake in Haiti, people and our government find the fund in millions of dollars to send all kinds of help. I find it really sad that it takes a horrific and tragic thing like this to happen for people to help. Our government can't find money to help people, but yet when something like this happens the money flows. Don't misunderstand me, we should be helping, but I think it should be done everyday, not just when its too late. But I guess that's the way we work in the Western part of the world. We keep ourselves so busy and nothing outside of our little world really matters, we need to open our eye's much sooner. Maybe if we did, they would have some buildings left standing and not as much poverty in thier country.
